When your groom says "psychedelic rainbow," you buckle up and go full throttle

Q: What kind of couple plans a “psychedelic rainbow” wedding?

The best kind. The groom literally said those words to me on the first call, and I just about leapt out of my chair. This was going to be an experience. They were bold, they were creative, and they wanted a wedding that was nothing short of legendary—and lucky for them, pushing boundaries is kinda our thing.

Q: Where did you even begin with a wedding like this?
Color. All the color. The bride, a graphic designer (and total artistic queen), designed her own letterpress invitations—which set the tone from day one. On the big day, she showed up rocking a blue-lined bridal gown, glittery hair, ombre eyeshadow, and sparkly blue boots. Her bouquet? A multi-colored brooch stunner that doubled as a bicep workout.
The groom didn’t hold back either: black velvet blazer, rainbow boutonniere, and a honeybee pin. Each member of the wedding party matched the vibe with coordinating colors, wild makeup, and flower-filled chrome clutches instead of bouquets—because statement piece energy.

Q: What was the ceremony like?
Surprisingly traditional. They had a full Catholic ceremony—but trust, it was just the calm before the technicolor storm. The contrast made the reception reveal that much more jaw-dropping.

Q: Talk to us about the reception.
Oh, honey… Armature Works had never seen anything like it.
Cocktail hour gave guests a taste—vibrant accents, custom helmets instead of a guestbook (why not?), and fun surprises around every corner.
Then came the seating reveal: a massive “Lights Out and Away We Go” wall (a nod to Formula 1 racing) featuring license plates, car keys, and track keychains that doubled as escort cards. Because yes, this rainbow wedding also had a racing motif. No rules—just joy.
The ballroom? A full-blown color explosion. Each round table was a different hue, the long tables flowed in an ombre rainbow from one end to the other—down to the florals, linens, menus, and candles. Lounge areas had neon-lit coffee tables, and two actual F1 cars flanked the elevated sweetheart table. Behind it? A silver sequin wall with rainbow uplighting, of course.

Q: Did the fun stop there?
Not even close. Guests snacked from flambé sundae and ice cream sandwich stations, sipped glowing cocktails at iridescent sequin bars, and danced to a band that played on trash cans. (Yep—Stomp-style. And it was epic.)
There was a live painter. A buzzing dance floor. A design so cohesive it felt surreal. Every single guest became part of the color story. And by the end of the night? No one wanted it to end.

Q: What was your “I nailed it” moment?
Standing in that ballroom, watching guests walk in and audibly gasp. The transformation was so unexpected, so joyful, and so unapologetically them. That’s what we do—turn chaos into cohesion, and wild ideas into immersive reality.
