How We Brought Their Fantasy Wedding to Life — and Survived a Power Outage Doing It
Q: What was the couple’s vision?
When the couple said “Think Lord of the Rings meets Dungeons & Dragons,” we knew we weren’t planning just a wedding—we were world-building. With a bold orange and purple palette and a deep love of all things fantasy, we dove headfirst into the enchanted forest of their dreams.
And yes, we absolutely did our homework.
Q: What did the vibe feel like?
Whimsical. Woodsy. Wonderfully weird—in the best way.
The bride’s vibrant purple hair and the groom’s custom patterned suit set the tone: bold, unconventional, and brimming with personality. Each member of the wedding party even wore custom D&D character pins. This wasn’t just a theme; it was a lifestyle.
Q: What made the ceremony space magical?
We created an enchanted woodland aisle with winding clusters of florals and greenery that felt like nature had overtaken the space in the most romantic way.
The couple requested a hexagon arch, so naturally, we transformed it with dragonwood (because of course), layering on asymmetrical florals with deep oranges, moody purples, and lush greens. It was bold but grounded. Like Rivendell meets a forest rave.
Oh—and the bride’s bouquet? It looked like it was plucked straight from the forest floor. Wild, unstructured, and alive.
Q: Were there personal touches?
So many - A symbolic knot-tying during the ceremony. Fantasy-inspired soundscapes playing as guests arrived. Custom animated video backdrops during the reception. Dragon-eye soap favors. Even the cake was a full-blown fantasy creature—complete with a dragon topper, sliced with a sword. Because anything less would’ve been blasphemy.
Q: What did the reception look like?
Think: an immersive realm brought to life.
The lighting was botanical and moody, with trees dripping in moss, soft uplighting, and centerpieces that looked like they were growing out of the tables. We used moss, wood textures, flickering candles, and dark rattan chargers to ground the fantasy in earthy realism. The entire space pulsed with that surreal “am I in a video game or a dream?” kind of energy.
Q: Any unexpected twists?
Just a casual power outage mid-reception.
But fear not—this wasn’t our first dark force encounter. We lit the space with hundreds of candles and battery-powered lanterns we had on standby, proving that not even a blackout could dull the magic of the night.
Q: Final verdict?
Legendary. A masterclass in immersive storytelling, meaningful design, and geeking out in the most elegant way possible. It was proof that fantasy can be deeply personal, wildly beautiful, and yes—even chic.
